PRESS RELEASE

Priory School Shortlisted for The Economist Foundation’s

Leadership for Change Prize 2025

Priory School, part of the high-achieving Bohunt Education Trust, is delighted to announce
that its students have been shortlisted for The Economist Foundation’s prestigious
Leadership for Change Prize 2025, placing among the top 11 projects out of more than 120
entries nationwide.
The shortlisting recognises the exceptional creativity, dedication, and impact of Priory’s
students. The project caught the attention of journalists from The Economist and The
Guardian, who praised the calibre of work submitted.
Helen Blachford, Trust Subject Director of Personal Development and Curriculum Leader
for Citizenship & PSHE, said:
“I am incredibly proud of our students for reaching the final 11. Their commitment and
enthusiasm throughout this project have been outstanding, and this recognition reflects the
hard work and leadership they have shown.”
Neil Strowger, Trust Leader at Bohunt Education Trust, added:
“This is a remarkable achievement for Priory School. Being shortlisted in such a competitive
national competition is a testament to the dedication of both staff and students in fostering
leadership, creativity, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the world.”
As part of the recognition, Priory School will receive certificates celebrating the
achievement and will be featured on The Economist Foundation’s website and in its curated
magazine. Additionally, the School has been invited to participate in the Topical Talk Festival
in January 2026, a global initiative designed to engage students with contemporary news
topics and discussions.
Priory School continues to foster an environment where students are encouraged to ‘enjoy,
respect and achieve’, and this latest recognition highlights the School’s ongoing commitment
to developing ‘game-changers’: young leaders who are prepared to make a positive impact in
their communities and beyond.
