Dear Parent\Carer
As you will no doubt have seen on the news, we are expecting the arrival of Storm Ciaran tonight.
Having taken advice and time to fully consider the implications of staying open I am now communicating the frustrating but appropriate decision to close tomorrow.
Several factors have driven this decision,
I had considered waiting to make a site assessment first thing in the morning but that will be in the middle of the storm with the prospect of further deterioration. This means there will be no guarantee the situation we encounter first thing will not get progressively worse during the morning and the remainder of the day.
I want to notify you as parents in a reasonable time, hence the communication now.
I must stress that tomorrow remains a working day for our students and work can be accessed via Classcharts and Google Classroom
Working from Home
Parents/Students
If you have a child working at home, they should follow these two steps to participate in home learning.
This allows students to keep up to date with homework and any other work that has been set on Google Classroom or any of our other platforms.
This is the first thing they should spend their time at home doing.
When you complete work from this website, the work should be shared with your teacher either via email or physical work upon your return to school and the lesson.
Additionally, students across all year groups have links for all literacy and reading programmes on the following section of the school website, https://www.priorysouthsea.org/literacy/
Year 11 students should revise for their upcoming mock examination next week.
Thank you for your patience. We expect to be fully open to all on Friday.
